Web Project Manager Required

The Internet Communications Specialist is responsible for the development and maintenance of content and content standards for the institutional web site, intranet, and related communications media, working with institutional staff, Public Affairs, the Marketing Office, and the Internet Services team.

Scope: The Internet Communications Specialist will work within the confines of the institutional content management systems and web guidelines to ensure the highest standards of quality and usability (a consistent user experience) that complies with the institutional brand and the requirements and guidelines of state and federal mandates. In carrying out the above functions, the specialist will work directly with internal customers to understand the primary audiences, the tone, the divisional/departmental structure and business processes and objectives as it relates to the content beat in question, create requirement documentation, and support the adoption of delivered web content in compliance with guidelines.

Activities:

  • Assist with reorganizing and converting external web site into new content management system.
  • Assess current inventory of online education content; prioritize, reorganize and identify content development opportunities.
  • Work with staff within Internet Services, Public Affairs and other departments to award and/or edit content.
  • Rebuild online education content to reflect updated and new content.
  • Work with Marketing Coordinator to optimize content from a marketing and search engine optimization perspective.
  • Support other content beats as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, communications, marketing, business or related field.
  • Five years of experience in business information writing, including print and Internet-based media.
  • Demonstrated experience in personal computer applications and Internet usage, including a content management system (Rhythmyx or similar), Adobe Creative Suite applications such as Adobe Photoshop and Dreamweaver, as well as social media platforms (blogs, message boards, wikis) and other Web 2.0 technologies. Basic knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) practices.
