Job Description
Our client, a state-of-the-art healthcare facility equipped with sophisticated medical equipments is currently in need of a Western trained Orthopedic Surgeon. Ideal candidate must be a specialist in the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders. This includes bone and joint trauma (fractures and dislocations), as well as elective orthopedics such as adult reconstruction i.e. hip and knee replacement, spinal surgery, sports injuries, pediatric orthopedics, deformity correction and limb lengthening, hand and upper extremity, foot and ankle surgery, musculoskeletal oncology (bone and muscle cancers) plus other subspecialties. Duties and responsibilities would also include assessing patients in the outpatient as well as the inpatient setting; making a diagnosis and recommend options and treatment plan, including further investigations such as Xrays, MRI's and blood tests; determines exercise programs, changes to lifestyle, physiotherapy, splints or casts, drug therapy, injections or surgery; responsible for planning operations, ensuring equipment, and staff are prepared for the cases; managing overall patient care during hospital admission and especially during the time in the operation room; providing care after hours either by being on call or by making arrangements with colleagues to ensure care is available on a 24-hour basis. The applicant must be an American Board certified or equivalent, with an affiliation in a musculoskeletal program, demonstrate an ability to build up an active private practice and supportive in building up teaching environment.
