Job Description
Conducting a quick high-level survey of current release management, SCM and version control practices across all product development team.Presenting the proposed solution to the relevant stakeholders, update the solution based on comments, and publish final, approved version.Developing and implementing the solution in conjunction with the PMO and development teams, including:Setting up the new SCM team, including the selection / recruitment of staff and initial training & assimilation activities.Creating and maintaining an ongoing Software Configuration Management Plan that supports the overall product release plans.Developing and documenting the new SCM processes, standards, and tools, including automated build, packaging and installation procedures.Rollout / implementation of the new solution, including installation and setup of systems and tools, dissemination of documentation and provision of training for relevant staff.

Desired Candidate's Profile
Profile
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Sciences or Computer / Telecommunications Engineering.Expert knowledge and 8+ years of hands-on experience in release management, source control & configuration management, building, packaging, and installationExtensive experience in the setup, implementation, and support of configuration management / version control tools such as IBM Rational Clear Case and VSS for large development teams.Previous successful experience conducting SCM solution implementation and improvement initiativesStrong programming and scripting skills, with 6+ years of experience developing in Java, C/C++, Perl, Shell, Tcl, CGI/Perl, XML, and SQL.Extensive experience in system & database administration on both Windows and Unix platforms.Proactive self-starter.Strong communication and interpersonal skillsTeam player.Well-organized & detail-oriented.Strong root-cause analysis and problem-solving / troubleshooting skills.Deep understanding of software quality management, including ISO and CMMi.Successful experience conducting continuous improvement activities in the SCM domain.
