Interested applicants please apply to: recruit@webecome.com highlighting current and expected salaries: Position: EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT & INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST Department / Section: Employee Engagement & Communications Reporting to: Section Head Employee Engagement & Communications Business Unit: Group HR Purpose: To develop and implement employee focused initiatives which will support the company’s aim of becoming an Employer of Choice, by creating stronger engagement between the company and all its employees. Context: The Company has determined that it wants to become an Employer of Choice. As such it needs to have a sound infrastructure in place to develop and communicate its progress in all areas of employee engagement driven through HR initiatives. This role plays a major role in developing and implementing those initiatives to ensure the company’s voice is heard by employees clearly and regularly. Overview • Together with the Section head, develop and implement new engagement initiatives aligned to the overall strategic HR plan and vision of becoming an employer of choice within the region. These would include: Induction programme, Recognition Awards & Events, Staff Welcome initiatives and so on. Handing over the initiatives to relevant department for follow through once developed. • Set up a monitoring programme for all employee initiatives to ensure that there is regular follow up and communication around each initiative, such as Employee of the Month certificates & announcements. • In conjunction with the Section Head, work closely with the companies PR and Creative agencies to ensure alignment of all initiatives with external brand positioning and communication tone and content. • Co-ordinate in liaison with HR Consulting companies an Employee Engagement Survey, ensuring it is communicated well to the employees, the logistics of conducting the survey are managed and feedback from survey is collated- and sent to relevant senior management team for review & consideration. • Work with the Section Head, develop and implement initiatives based on the outcomes of the Engagement Survey to ensure that all employees within the organisation believe that their voices are heard and action will be taken. • Working with the Talent Sourcing teams, develop recruitment collateral that will help to attract talent to the organisation. • In conjunction with the Talent Sourcing teams, create a University Campus collateral pack to ensure that the company has a presence at the relevant local and regional university employment fairs to enable the best talent to be aware of what joining the organisation can mean to them. • In conjunction with the Section Head, create and manage all staff related events for the organisation, working with external agencies and vendors as necessary to ensure the success of these events. • Working with the Section Head Employee Engagement & Communication, develop materials related to supporting the company’s core values and cascading them throughout the organisation • Work closely with the Editorial Services Supervisor and Employee Engagement Officer to ensure that there is a cohesive team effort to deliver relevant messages to all staff within the company using the relevant media at all times. • Works across the whole HR Department to co-ordinate and collate all information related to any new initiative that needs to be communicated to the organisation and ensures that this material is sent to the appropriate creative or production vendors. Business orientation • Understands the importance and impact of employee communications and employee events in their relationship to the overall employee engagement initiatives and what they can mean for the success of the company in becoming an Employer of Choice in the region. Customers • All internal staff at all levels throughout the organisation wherever they are working are the customers, their needs must be taken into consideration in all communications and events in order to ensure they have a full understanding of all the companies people related initiatives and other activities which may impact on them as individuals • Creates communication events which will ensure that all employees throughout the company have access to company information. Costs & Profitability • Works within allocated budget when organising events, creating initiatives as directed by Section Head. Problem Solving • Typically problems will be day to day operational issues in developing and implement events or employee focused initiatives such as ensuring agencies understand the brief and are able to deliver on time to budget and where they fail can develop plan B. Planning & Organising • Plans and organises all employee events in conjunction with external parties and with other colleagues from within the organisation. • Ensures that all external vendors deliver projects on time and to budget. • Plans the execution of the strategic communications plan and manages the diary of events liaising with the appropriate parties to gather the information required ahead of time to ensure that any print media can be created on time. • Planning and organising will play a significant part of this role. Minimum Experience & Essential Knowledge 8 years experience in an event management role or a corporate communications role, some of which must have been within an HR Department. Sound understanding of HR practices. Understanding of Employee communications. Experience of Internal communication is a must; Internal branding experience is a must Minimum Entry Qualifications Bachelor degree in communications, marketing, HR or related area. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS • Number of initiatives carried out against strategic plan. • Employee Engagement index. Quality of initiatives developed measured by their success within the organisation (success criteria to be agreed prior to launch of any initiative with relevant parties). Decision Making • Independently makes decisions related to prioritisation of own work and related to agency selection where there is a requirement for budget approval, or ideas approval this will be taken by Senior Management within HR. Business Impact - Significant responsibility for Employee Engagement index success both in terms of the index itself and the success of implementing the survey. Communicating, Negotiating & Influencing • Works with the entire HR Department to ensure that all HR initiatives can be communicated in a clear and understandable way to the organisation. • Negotiates with agencies and others with regards to timescales, delivery, creative ideas etc. Networks (Internal & External Contacts) • All Staff • Senior Management • Potential Employees • Creative Agencies • PR Agencies • Educational Institutions • Group Communications Team working, Coaching and Development - Works as part of the Engagement Team specifically and more broadly as part of the HR Team.
