Job Description
NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION: Responsible for installation/maintenance of MVS zOS and OS/390 systems. Establish system performance standards and perform tuning interventions. Establish/maintain system procedures and perform operating system recovery as needed. Evaluate software/hardware for future needs. Administer site security. Implement system data storage solutions such as SMS related software. Programming skills required. TECHNICAL DUTIES: SMPE installation and maintenance of OS390 system software. Install and maintain third party software products. Perform customer installation of hardware products ICF catalogs maintenance RACF security administration Resolve system problems and establish recovery procedures. Write REXX/CLIST and ISPE dialogs for maintaining system. USE of monitoring products such as RMF, OMEGAMMON, etc. PR/SM, LPAR implementation as needed. Configure/maintain controllers and other system devices. Familiarity with HCD and system configuration Maintain HMC procedures and definitions. Implement installation exits as needed. Tailor and support JES2. Train and support local staff. Interface with DB2, CICS, VTAM and PC support staff. Interface with vendors for system related products/problems. Performance monitoring and tuning
