Job Description
This service provides customized support for specific projects by a qualified Alcatel-Lucent Expert for a defined period of time. The System Expert provides expert assistance for new equipment, new software releases, or changes in administrative processes. The expert will be located at STC’s premises.The expert shall assist TAC personnel on a full-time basis in the O&M of the vendor provided network. This includes:All level of technical support activities necessary to support the operation of the TAC (i.e. fault management, configuration and activation management, performance management, hard-to-resolve technical problems, inventory management, assist in software upgrades, etc).Provide second level assistance to NOC.Provide second level assistance to field operations on escalation of trouble from NOC.Resolve chronic problems and provide escalation of these problems to vendors Tier III Support Center. Existing Technical Support contract with various Vendors will be used for this escalation.In-depth analysis and problem resolution of all relevant installed elements.Assist in preparing reports on tests, technical issues, incidents and team issues in order to keep management fully informed of the current situation.Define tools and test equipment requirements.Provide network analysis.Make independent O&M studies to improve operations.Identify and analyze chronic problems.Define spare parts requirements.When the expert is not directly engaged with assisting STC with corrective maintenance activities, he shall be utilized, as directed by the Technical Assistance Center, to provide knowledge transfer.
Desired Candidate's Profile
Profile
Engineering Degree from a recognized University/College.At least 3 years experience in the field of transmission systems.Excellent understanding and experience in SDH/Ethernet.Experience in ex-Lucent Transmission equipment.Experienced in using SDH/Ethernet test equipment.Good verbal and written English language skills.Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.Able to work in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
